2006 Excellence in Program Innovation Winner – Where Are They Now?

2006 Excellence in Program Innovation – Hospice of Health First

“Volunteer Education Day”

Give us an update on your winning program…Is it still in existence?

Our Volunteer Education Day has evolved over time as many things do.

How has it changed or grown since you were first recognized?

In an effort to reach as many volunteers as possible with our mandatory education and information sessions – we have moved from a once a year program to a quarterly program and hold our meetings in various parts of the county.

How has your program affected patient and/or community outcomes?

Volunteer education Day has positively impacted our volunteers with the ability to increase their knowledge about various conditions and disease processes enabling them to better care for our patients. It has also allowed the community better access to our Hospice program by allowing for presentations and seminar sessions.

How can people find out more about your winning program?

We are happy to share resources and ideas with other hospices. The Volunteer Services department at Hospice of Health First can be reached at 321-952-0494.
