Delirium, Agitation, and Documenting to Eligibility Guidelines

Document to Eligibility Guidelines: How to Draw the Map
Non-cancer diagnoses now make up more than 50% of Hospice patients. Learning how to correctly review and admit these challenging patients is becoming increasing important. Walk away from this session with a better description of decline, and a better understanding of reviewing general admission criteria and disease/organ specific criteria. A review of complex cases will also be presented.

Delirium and Agitation: Which One?
What is delirium? What is agitation? Are they different? Do we treat them the same of not? Does it matter?

Workshop goals and objectives:

  • Agitation will be defined and clarified
  • A review of delirium and current diagnosis and treatment will be given
  • Different types of delirium will be reviewed
